BIO
I'm Kathleen Niemann. I'm currently based in the wonderful Logan Square neighborhood of the ever-evolving city of Chicago. Originally from Louisville, KY, I got started in the arts at the ripe age of 2 and a half when I took my first dance class. Like most younger siblings, I wanted to do everything my older sister was doing. So, I took my first acting class in 5th grade. After that I was hooked. I studied all things performing arts in high school and went on to receive a B.F.A. in Acting with a minor in Dance from Ball State University. I am proudly represented by Gray Talent Group. When I am not in rehearsal or on set you can find me doing yoga in the park, playing with the lovely children I nanny, tending to my plants, creating art, eating chocolate or searching for the best nature walk
INSPIRED BY
I am inspired by so many things.
The trees standing tall in the wind / my friends who are fearlessly following their passions / music that makes my insides move / children who create wild adventures in their living rooms.
CIRCLE PROJECT
I am creating a one woman show that celebrates women in Appalachia and their stories. Based on interviews and exploring some of the counties in Appalachian Kentucky, I have created several characters that explore some of the troubles, joys, hope and day to day tasks of people from those beautiful mountains.
