BIO

Keeli Edwards is a multimedia installation artist who splits her time between Richmond, VA, and a cabin in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Blending photography, video, sound/music, painting, light and natural sculptural elements, her work explores the interstices of nature and spirit, the organic and industrial, immersing the participant in the rhythms and rituals of water.

Keeli’s previous projects include “Swimming at Sunset,” an immersive film installation with composed music; “Eight Movements on the Gihon River” and “Thirst,” a pair of sculptural sound installations at the Vermont Studio Center; and Paddle to the Moon, an illustrated children’s book exploring motherhood and the joy of discovery along a journey of the imagination.

Keeli’s work has been featured in exhibitions around the world, including Toronto, Edinburgh, Cologne, the Midwest and South Korea, She has commissioned artworks for public display at Sprout in Little Falls, MN; St. Cloud, MN; Toronto, Ontario; and the Edinburgh International Conference Center, Scotland.

Keeli earned her MFA from the Edinburgh College of Art, following previous studies at the Burren College of Art in Ireland and Bethel University, and she has worked at the Leith School of Art in Edinburgh, the Art Gallery of Ontario and currently is a photographer for Engelhaven Studios.

Keeli can often be found composing piano late into the night after her three children have gone to bed, tending and transplanting native wildflowers in the prairie on her cabin property, attempting to tame the forest with a chainsaw into pathways for meditation. She longs for hikes in the highlands of Scotland where she met her supportive husband, Andy.

Having cared for families as a labor-and-delivery nurse for years, Keeli identifies with The Midwives vision to accompany and support artists in the giving of life to their art.
