Shelby Coffin has been teaching English literature for ten years. She received her BA in English from the University of Georgia and her Masters in Teaching from Agnes Scott College. She believes that words are maps that can guide the lost.

EXPLORING:

I am interested in a poetry project. I am having my first baby in April and struggling with all of the feelings that come with this experience. I've been writing for years, but I'd like to figure out some sort of direction and put together works I've done in the past and organize them into a sort of poetic memoir. 

INSPIRATION FOR PROJECT:

Mainly, poets and artists like Adrienne Rich, Audre Lorde, Mary Oliver, bell hooks, EE Cummings, Shakespeare, Magritte, and Jenny Holzer.
