Craving Community? Join The Midwives Community Circle!

Join The Midwives Community! Here at The Midwives we strive to nurture the public creative spirit. Creativity is in everything we do, and in our Community Circles we seek to not only support it, but to celebrate it as well!

The Midwives Community Circle is new and we’ve made it our entry level program. It’s a support group for your creative spirit. This group meets monthly on the second Monday of the month at 6pm CT. Here we will share work, talk about process, and have co-working time all led by a Midwives Facilitator. 

*If you are familiar with our programming, the Community Circle does not include Artist-Midwife Relationships.

*We anticipate you’ll spend approximately 2-6 hours a month engaged in Midwives-related activities outside of your own creative practice.

The Community Circle gives you access to:

  • Monthly Facilitated Circle Meetings - This group meets monthly to share work, talk about process, and have co-working time all led by a Midwives Facilitator. We hope to offer both a local Chicago circle which would meet in person, and a virtual circle which would meet on zoom.


  • Field Notes: A Midwives Artist Spotlight - A bi-monthly online publication which highlights one of our artists. Read about their work, process, and inspiration! As a Community Member, you would be able to share your work on this platform.


  • Workshops - We offer one workshop each month facilitated by members of our community. We aim to give space to our members to share skills, perspectives, and ways of making. All members are welcome and encouraged to facilitate a workshop! Check out our current line-up here. (All workshops are offered on Zoom unless it is indicated that they are offered in person in Chicago).


  • Extras - The Community Circle puts you at the heart of The Midwives with the above listed programs, but we are constantly experimenting and evolving to support the needs of our members. Other events may include open-mics, discussions, and meet-ups.

Community Circle Cost:

At The Midwives, we value accessibility and fair compensation for work. We strongly believe money shouldn’t be a barrier to access. For our Community Circles, it costs approximately $100 per month per artist to provide this programming. 

We offer the Community Circle on a sliding scale rate of $35 - $150 per month with the hope that our members with more resources can chip in to keep The Midwives accessible.
